For the first time in their history, Tama is offering a copper shell in their STARPHONIC series.

The PCP147 snare drum features a 1.2 mm copper shell and 7in.x14in. shell dimension.

This shell design creates an extraordinary raw, dry, dark tone with rich low frequencies in its overtone. When playing the center of the drum, the sound is dry and articulate with a throaty depth. When moving out to the edges of the shell, the drum opens up with higher-pitched overtones and textures. The copper shell is brushed to a satin finish, which gives this drum a clean, modern look.

The combination of the 7in. deep copper shell with the outstanding STARPHONIC series features – Grooved Hoop, Freedom Lugs, Linear Drive snare strainer/butt and Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wires – this Starphonic Copper snare drum provides the discriminating drummer unique tonal options and extreme expression.
