Direct Chain drive.

Very well made. Though it may be single braced, it’s very sturdy and secure without being too heavy.

Bottom section is 1 1/8in. tubing.

Top section is 7/8in. tubing.

EZ spring tension adjustment.  All you need to do to adjust the feel of this hi hat is turn the knob at the base section.
